This is an old Miami vintage “Dukoff Super Power Chamber” in a D9 facing for tenor sax. These pieces are ideal for players looking for lots of flexibility when it comes to projection and power. This one in particular plays with a full and very colorful sound. But, I personally found it to be on the darker side compared to many of the much brighter Dukoff SPC pieces that have come through the shop over the years.
The outer body of the mouthpiece shows normal cosmetic wear for an old Dukoff. There is a small bit of material missing from one side of the bite plate. But no serious damage to note around the outer body. Looking over its profile closely it does show evidence it was worked on in the past. A previous owner (who probably did the work themselves) left a black mark on the side of the piece which was being used as a reference for the facing curve. At present the tip opening on the piece measures closer to a D8 at .108” and the facing curve is also rather long. While it is not a pristine example of a Super Power Chamber, it does play nicely as it is now.
