This is a vintage Martin Handcraft Committee tenor saxophone, serial number 117748. Manufactured in 1937 the “Skyline” Martin features beveled tone hole construction, adjustable thumb rest and a “cityscape” art deco design across the bell. This one in particular is in good shape and is ideal for a player looking to get a nice and punchy American vintage tenor.

Physically the tenor is in solid, straight forward condition. The body tube, bow, bow cap and bell are all in nice shape. Its bow cap has never been pushed in. All of the original key guards are also present and in very nice condition. Some very minor past dent work, but nothing serious, and only light lacquer wear from nominal use. This saxophone does include the original neck. The neck has seen some past repair to the lower brace, and most of the lacquer has worn.

This sax came into our shop playing through some leaks on a good set of pads and metal resonators. We are going to go through the horn in our shop and make some sure it is sealing up like a drum. The Martin is a very powerful saxophone and has a tremendous amount of character. This saxophone is ideal for any pro in need of a second horn or any player looking to get into a classic American vintage tenor for a sweet price. Ships in a newer Protec Pro Pac XL case.
