Martin Magna – Kenosha Wis.
This is a very nice vintage Martin Magna tenor saxophone in original lacquer finish, serial number 570002. It was one of the first saxophones made by Martin after they made the move to Kenosha. The saxophone also features a very rare original sterling silver neck (one of only two known in existance). The other is in our museum with serial number 570001.

The body of the saxophone is in exceptional physical condition. It has spent most of its life stored in a case and has seen very little play time. The body tube, bow, bow cap, bell and bell flare are all in amazing original condition and have no signs of past repair. There is some light speckled cosmetic wear along the key work and a little bit of blemishing around the engraving but there is no history of past body repair or re-solders. The key features on this Magna include the original adjustable thumb rest, gold plated springs and original sterling silver neck.

This tenor was just freshly overhauled in our shop and is now in perfect playing condition. The tenor is now sporting a brand new set of premium leather pro pads, metal domed resonators, new corks, new felts and a very thorough key regulation. This is a very fun horn to play. It takes the air in quick and has a massive free blowing response. A fantastic choice if you are looking for a really big sounding sax.
