HELP, I Want One!

This is a Martin "Lion and Crown" Committee II alto sax with a serial number of #134936. These models from Martin were made from 1939 until '41, such a short stint makes them a bit hard to find, especially in playing condition. This Committee II was manufactured in 1939 at the beginning of the run. As you can tell from the photos this horn has very intriguing features, solid nickel-silver key construction, easily adjustable thumb rest, an ornate left-side bell key-guard, and the horn's namesake "Lion and Crown" engraving.
In the past, there have been a few resolders on key-guard feet, the palm keys, and the bell brace. These seem to be holding up very well along with all the brand-new materials and regulations from its fresh overhaul, delivered by Josh Creekmore. The Valentino Premium pads have been dry-treated, giving them a "Tin-Man" look; these pads are paired with Ferree's black-nylon cone resonators. Freshly installed, corrosion-resistant, nickel-plated steel springs drive each key as well. The repair and set up on this horn takes every precaution for longevity.
Players who seek a very affordable ready-to-go alto should take interest in an offer like this, as the cleaning and repair work is already complete top to bottom. Sonically, one will experience a dark and powerful tone, fantastic projection which does not suffer in the extremely low or high registers. The key action is light on the stacks and table for folks who enjoy ripping scales at high speed with ease, perfect backup or main horn.
This horn ships with the original hard wood case containing a stylish blue felt interior.
