HELP, I Want One!

LOW Price on a Conn 30M

This is a sweet 1941 vintage CG Conn 30M “Connqueror” series tenor sax, serial number 295456. This tenor is viewed by many to be the best horn Conn ever made. It features rolled tone holes, sterling silver key touches, and adjustment screws throughout for easy tweaking. We've sold these horns as high as $6000 in pristine shape. This one is no museum horn, but it is a tremendous player and available for a great price.

This sax shows a life of playing and wears its history proudly. It was relacquered a very long time ago, and shows a moderate amount of lacquer wear since the work. It was done very well, with all of the “naked lady” engraving on the bell still showing crisply. The horn has had a few dings and dimples over its life, but no serious past damages that I can tell. The back bottom alternate Eb key that these Conns had has been removed and sealed, cleverly with a penny as seen in the photos. The original neck is lost unfortunately, but the sax has been paired with a good vintage Conn neck (with funnel octave pip), which matches up well with this tenor sonically.

This 30M was recently professionally repadded with black roo pads and oversized seamless metal domed resonators. We are going to make some adjustments to the table keys and regulate the sax properly before it ships, make sure everything is sealing well and in perfect adjustment.

For me, this tenor seems to play a bit darker than some of the earlier Chu and 10M models. It still has that open feeling you'd expect from a good Conn, with a spread sound that fills up a room easily. A very free blowing tenor. This is a great find for Conn lovers or any fan of quality vintage American made horns.
