Beautiful Art Deco
This is a very sweet original vintage gold plate Conn Art Decco alto saxophone, serial number 247579. The saxophones made during this period are now referred to as “Transitional” models because they had some design qualities of both the Chu Berry series and the M series. This one in particular still has the Chu Berry style table key but not finger nail file G#. It has same side bell keys like the 6M, a double socket neck with under slung octave key and the original trill G# is also intact.. The most striking thing about this alto is the intricate art deco engraving with the lady centerpiece.

The alto is physically in very good condition for its vintage. It shows signs of having an active life but has never received any major repair. There have been a few smaller size dings on the sax over time. Some still remain and will be taken out while the saxophone is in our shop being overhauled. The alto does include the original double socket neck with under slung octave key and micro tuner. The neck and micro tuner are both in very good shape. This neck was at some point slightly pulled down but it has been brought back up to its correct position.

We received this saxophone on a very old set of pads and it is currently awaiting a complete overhaul in the Saxquest shop. The professional overhaul will include a complete dissemble, clean up and polish. It will also feature a new set of Valentino pads, metal resonators, new corks, felts and a thorough key regulation. The overhaul will also include taking out the smaller dings shown in the picture. This saxophone will soon be in perfect playing condition. Once the work is complete we will add a fresh set of pictures and a play test video.

Do not miss out on an outstanding Conn Art Deco.
