Vintage Conn Silver Plate Soprano - 1923

This is a beautiful C.G. Conn silver plate New Wonder soprano saxophone with rolled tone holes, serial number 119716. It was just freshly overhauled in another shop. It looks fantastic and it plays like a dream. The body shows off a lovely satin silver finish with gold wash around the bell flare. Its silver plate key work and key pearls also look quite stunning. The recent overhaul features a new set of premium leather pads with nylon resonators and all new corks and felts. For efficiency and response the tech also used synthetic pads in the palm keys. The key work feels smooth under the fingers allowing for a positive playing experience.

Physically the soprano is in exceptional condition regarding the satin silver finish and gold wash around the bell flare. Looking over the saxophone extremely carefully it does look like a few of the posts were professionally repaired at some point in the past. Because of the precision of the repairs and the clean satin silver finish the work is very difficult to see.

The Conn sopranos from this period were manufactured with rolled tone holes and featured a back door Eb key, circular thumb rest and an alternate F# key. It was made shortly before Conn introduced the fingernail file G# key. This Conn soprano takes the air in quick and easy and plays with a smooth response. If you are looking for a free blowing player with a little extra sweetness the Conn sopranos from the 1920's are a fantastic choice.

This soprano ships out in perfect playing condition with the original Conn wood hard case and a hard rubber mouthpiece.
