Conn 10M – Players Horn

This is a vintage C.G. Conn 10M tenor saxophone in gold lacquer finish, serial number 340808. These post war Conn tenors are ideal for the players who love the sound and feel of a classic 10M but are looking for the most bang for their buck. The 10M does showcase straight tone hole construction with the classic Naked Lady engraving and the original trill G# key. As a player this saxophone has a robust sound with punchy projection and a bright color. It is a perfect horn for any player who needs something to cut through a loud band.

This saxophone was re-lacquered at some point in the past. The current gold lacquer finish shows some standard wear but the engraving is very clear across the bell area. As with many of the best permanence instruments this saxophone does have a history of some past dent repair and solder work, some small dings still remain. The original 10M neck with funnel pip is with this saxophone.

The 10M came into our shop playing on a mix match of mostly older leather pads and brown plastic resonators. Its former owner kept it lightly serviced over the years on older existing pads. As it currently sits it is playing with some leaks and key clicks. If you are a strong budget kind of player you might be able to keep this horn going with doing minimal tweaking. But ultimately as most of the pads are well past there prime the saxophone is going to need to be overhauled before it could be considered in perfect playing condition.

This saxophone ships out in as is condition with a protec case.
