Aristocrat 157 – Professionally Overhauled by Ben Reece
This is a very sweet pro player! Vintage Buescher Aristocrat 157 tenor saxophone in original lacquer, serial number 356232. The 157 is a perfect instrument for anyone looking for the Top Hat and Cane vibe at a bargain price. These horns are absolutely ideal for the modern pro player who needs robust free blowing instrument. This one in particular is a recent project horn of saxophone tech Ben Reece. It has been overhauled and freshly set-up by Ben and is in perfect playing condition. The overhaul features all new premium leather Valentino pads, new corks, felts and an precise key regulation. The original Buescher snap resonators in the upper and lower stack were also preserved and utilized during the restoration. At this time the palm keys are set up with standard dome metal resonators.
There has been a history of dent and solder work on this saxophone. As it sits the body and neck of the sax are in solid condition showing professional solder work to some of the key guard feet as well as octave key mount on the neck. This saxophone does have all of the original key work and key guards. The original amber rollers and many of the original gold plated Norton springs are also with the sax.
This sax features a world class sound and a highly exceptional free blowing response to air flow. The powerful voice of this instrument makes it perfect for the on the go gigging player who has to cover a multitude of genres spanning rock, blues, funk and straight ahead jazz.
