Selmer Mark VII Alto –1980
This is a vintage Selmer Paris Mark VII alto saxophone in original lacquer, serial number 304634. If you are looking for a great price on a vintage Selmer alto with a clean look you will fall in love with this one quickly. The body is in pristine condition showing off a beautiful lacquer finish with only a light amount of cosmetic character from the years of use. Its body tube, bow and bell are in tremendous original condition and have not history of major repair. The bow cap and bell flare are also  in pristine condition. This saxophone comes with the original neck. The neck is in great shape and was never pulled down in the past. The one solder repair on this alto is on the octave key saddle mount of the neck.  ( picture 31)

The Mark VII is a highly responsive playing instrument and this particular alto is no exception. In comparison to the earlier Mark VI models this one plays with a much deeper and more focused core. Because of the focused sound and concise response the Mark VII is quite popular with a lot of classical players as well as the jazz players who desire a tighter core sound. The Mark VII does feature larger table keys and was the first Selmer saxophone to come with the high F# key as a mainstay stock option.

This particular alto was recently professionally overhauled in another shop and is in top notch playing condition. Its fresh set-up features a new set of leather JL Smith pads with brown nylon resonators. The key work shows off a crisp feel under the fingers allowing for fluid movement across the entire instrument.

The Mark VII alto ships out with the original Selmer Paris wood hard case with leather case cover.
