This is a very pretty Keilwerth SX90R tenor saxophone from the late 1980's, serial number 111525. This saxophone features a Nickel Silver finish over its brass body with gold lacquer key work. The saxophone was used pretty regularly by the original owner for many years before being left in its case for a long period of time. At this point the tenor is due for a mechanical overhaul. As such it is currently waiting for a professional overhaul in our shop. Once complete it will be in perfect playing condition with all new pads, materials and resonators.

The body to this saxophone is in great shape showing normal signs of past use. Some light scratches along the back of the body as well as some standard finish wear along the key work and major key touch areas. The sax currently has a notable set of dings along the bottom bow. fortunately the bow cap is in really good shape and was never pushed in. There is no other evidence of major past repair or damage on this sax. All of the original key work and guards are with the saxophone and in good condition. The sax is also with the original neck. There is one ding on the side of the neck that will be removed in our shop.

This saxophone is currently in the Saxquest shop awaiting a professional overhaul. The overhaul will include a complete dissemble, cleaning, key fitting and a precise regulation of the key work with all new premium leather pads, metal dome resonators, new corks and new felts. While the horn is apart we will also clean up the dings along the bottom bow.

These tenors are standard go to choice for a lot of modern saxophonists who need a horn with plenty of power for use in a variety of musical settings. This one showcases a huge robust quality and is an extremely free blowing player. Outstanding projection and altissimo register as well.
