HELP, I Want One!

Selmer Mark VI Tenor Vintage 1963
This is great players vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor sax, serial number 107369. While it might not be the prettiest horn in our shop it is definitely one of the most burning players we have. The saxophone has been professionally maintained and played by the previous owner. These earlier six digit models are still very similar to the big robust character of the five digit models from the late 1950's. This one in particular has a huge sound with ample body and power. It also has nice crystal clear quality regarding the way it projects. This is a top notch pro player with plenty of flexibility.

The pictures of this tenor really tell its story the best. Its previous owner put a nice bit of play time on it over the years while keeping it maintained. At some point, most likely a long time ago all of the finish was removed. It is now in a raw brass/Un-lacquered format which is probably one reason it has such a sweet and open and free response. Its body tube and bell are both in great shape. The bow cap is still in excellent condition and was never pushed in. Looking over the saxophone very closely there is one re-solder on the upper key guard foot of the low Eb key guard. The key work feels nice and crisp under the fingers allowing for easy and quick movement across the saxophone. The keys and keys and pearls do show some cosmetic play wear from years of use but still have a very nice and comfortable feel under the fingers. This saxophone also has the original Mark VI neck with matching serial number stamp. The neck is in very good condition.

This is the type of saxophone that really speaks for itself as a player. With a great key feel and a world class warm and robust sound this Mark VI is going to be hard to beat as a player. It is currently in the Saxquest shop awaiting a professional regulation in our shop on its current set of black Roo pads and metal resonators. This saxophone ships out from our shop in perfect playing condition in a protec case.
