HELP, I Want One!

Very clean, original lacquer Selmer Paris Mark VI alto saxophone, serial number 233512. These late vintage VI's are a great option for players seeking a true Mark VI, but can't spread for the prices that the earlier vintage horns sell for. This one is in tremendous shape and will ship with a fresh overhaul from our repair shop.

This horn was lovingly played and cared for awhile back, but has been sitting unused for some time now, so we're going to put it back in perfect playing shape. Our overhaul will include all new pads (fitted with original style brown nylon resonators), all new key adjustment corks and felts, and our pro regulation. We'll set the spring tensions to medium and key heights to medium-open, exactly what makes these Mark VI's sing best.

As you can see in the photos, the horn looks fantastic, better than the vast majority of vintage VI's out there. The original lacquer is 95%+ intact, with only light typical wear of a horn that has been played. There's wear on the usual keys and touch points, and some light wear on the back side of the bell, where the horn may rest against the player during use. A couple minor chair dings in the bottom bow will be removed during our overhaul. There are no resolders or major repair anywhere to the sax. The neck is original has never been pulled down, but there is some lacquer loss near the cork, where a past repair tech got a little overzealous during a cork replacement.

Once our work is complete, the sax will play as good or better than the day it left the factory in 1974, one of the last Mark VI's off the line before the introduction of the Mark VII. Sonically, expect a strong, focused sound, with a warm tone and solid projection. Ships in its original case as pictured.
