Beautiful condition first series Yamaha Custom Z alto sax in gold lacquer, serial number 369138. This alto looks fantastic and is a wonderful player too! If you've been looking for a top shelf Yamaha Custom at a good price, you won't be disappointed.

As you can see in the photos, this alto has looks to kill. The original lacquer is 99% intact, with minimal wear. There's some light scratching on the back side of the bell and down around the bottom bow, but little actual lacquer wear. Absolutely no dents, dings, or previous repairs, including no resolders. The original Custom G1 neck has never been damaged.

This alto can to us on mostly original pads, so it was due to be freshened up. We're going to clean the horn up and replace a good number of pads in the upper stack, anything that is starting to show wear. We'll also replace all of the key adjustment corks and felts, and give the sax a fresh adjustment. We'll get it back to playing good as new, so expect to be blown away!

Even currently playing through some minor leaks, I can get a real sense of the power and edge this alto has. Excellent contemporary sound, and a great sax for players looking for a modern sound. Very fast response. I can't wait to play this beauty when it has been done up! Ships in its original case as pictured.
