Freshly Restored in the Saxquest Shop
This is a gorgeous original lacquer Buescher Big B Aristocrat alto saxophone, serial number 295610. Very rarely do we get such a pristine example as this one. The original lacquer finish shows a rich dark hue complemented by the crisp Big B engraving. This alto also shows off the original amber key rollers, Buescher snap resonators and gold plated springs.

The body of this alto is in beautiful original condition. There is no history of dent work and it has received zero re-solders in the past. Its body tube, bow, bow cap, bell and bell flare are all in fabulous original condition. All of the key guards and key guard feet are also in excellent condition with no history of repair. This saxophone does include the original neck with 01 stamp. The neck shows some finish wear but has no history of past repair or damages.

This alto came to us on old pads, some of which are original and very past their prime. As such it received a complete restoration in our repair shop, all work done by George Bunk. It has all new pads and material, retaining the original Buescher snap resonators. George finely adjusted the spring tensions and key heights throughout, and the horns feels as good today as the day it left the factory in 1941.

Saxquest loves these old Buescher saxophones. The Big B plays with a sweet and colorful warm character. These are very free blowing by modern standards but for their time they were much more focused in comparison to vintage Conns and the Top Hat and Cane Buescher models. This saxophone ships out in perfect playing condition with the original wood hard case.
