This is a very sweet player, early vintage (1987) Selmer Paris Super Action 80 Series II alto sax, serial number 399316. The serial number dates this sax to the first year or two of this model. The earlier version of the SII altos are starting to have a sizeable following by many modern professionals. These earlier versions, like this one, are considered by many players to have a fuller, free blowing sound and response. A SII is always an ideal alto for players looking for a top notch pro instrument with great control, precise pitch, a beautiful sound and a great feel.

The body of the alto shows a healthy amount of normal wear and general use. There is no signs of serious past abuse or major repair to the body. It is a former military-owned horn, and they etched some identifying marks on the body tube above the serial number (see photos), but that's about it. The original neck shows lacquer wear and a couple shallow pings, but has never been pulled down or seriously damaged.

This saxophone recently received a full overhaul in our shop and is now in perfect playing condition. The work include a complete dissemble, cleaning, key fitting and a fresh key regulation with a all new pads, metal dome resonators as well as all new corks and felts. The horn feels fantastic under the fingers and plays even better.
