This is a very nice Super Action 80 (Series I) alto saxophone in gold lacquer, serial number 382112. The Super Action 80 Series was the saxophone released between the Mark VII and the SII. These saxophones have similar ergonomic qualities of the later SII's but are considered by most to be a little less focused. This is ideal for professional players who are looking for a fatter core sound. These saxophones will take a ton of air in and are extremely flexible. Definitely the kind of instrument you can use in any musical situation. The Super Action 80 does feature modern key work with pearl touch front F key and key work to high F#.
The body of this saxophone is in excellent condition. It has seen a decent amount of play time in the past while being well cared for. There is currently a few small dings on the sax and the bell flare has also been repaired in the past. This saxophone has never received any solder repairs. The original neck is with the saxophone and is also in excellent condition. While this saxophone is in our shop we will clean up the small dings currently present on this saxophone.
This alto came into our shop on mostly original pads. Because the pads are past their prime the sax is currently awaiting a professional overhaul from our shop. The work will include a dissemble and cleaning followed by precise key fitting and a set up with a new set of premium leather pads, metal domed resonators as well as all new corks and felts. While the horn is in our shop we will also remove the small dings from the body and neck.
Ships out in perfect playing condition with an overhaul from our shop and a nice protec contoured case.
