This is a vintage Selmer 1970s era “scroll shank” mouthpiece for the alto sax. This piece has all of the features of the earlier Soloist mouthpieces, including the scroll pattern on the shank and horseshoe shaped chamber, but does have a bit less baffle behind the tip than most earlier Soloists, and thus plays with an even darker/warmer sound. It shows ligature scratches right on top of its body but no other real wear of note, including no indents or major teeth marks on the beak. The piece is stamped with the traditional C* facing and measures .065”.
