Excellent Vintage In EXCELLENT Condition!

Here we have a PRISTINE vintage Yamaha YSS-62 'Purple Logo' soprano, serial number #2681 (four digits). This soprano is playing but has original pads, so we give it a full overhaul before it ships.

The YSS-62 model soprano manufacturing run went from '79-'90. These are actually hard to come by in good shape, this is probably an early 1980s model from the look of the table.

These sopranos feature a 1-piece straight-body construction, chromatic keywork from low Bb to high F#, front F mechanism, a 'double' C key(tunes C# above the staff), gold lacquer with a beautiful floral engraving, and a signature purple 'Yamaha' logo.

If you dig retro gems like this, you're in for a treat. You'll be hard pressed to find one that looks so nice. While it plays well right now, the pads are old so we are going to give it a full overhaul, replace all pads, corks, felts, and get the feel perfect before shipping. Please allow for an 8-week turnaround time to complete repairs on this instrument.

Sonically, these sopranos have a pure slightly bright tone that projects very nicely. The 1980s era had a bit more warmth than todays yamaha's but they certainly have the same feel and personality.

This soprano ships in perfect playing condition with its original case.
