Ships with Fresh Saxquest Repad & Cleaning

This is a true “transitional” series Conn alto sax from 1932, serial number 252212. Much of this horn looks like a 6M, but it isn't yet stamped with the 6M name. It features rolled tone holes, trill G#, swivel thumbrest, improved table key cluster, and the original microtuner neck with doublet socket receiver and underslung octave key. Everything you want in a Conn of this vintage!

The original silver plating on this alto is in excellent shape, though a bit tarnished at the moment. The sax will get a fresh repad and cleaning in our repair shop before we ship, so we'll polish it up to shine like new. The finish shows little wear, and there is just 1 resolder that I can find, under the low Eb keyguard. The rolled tone holes have never been filed on, and I don't see any evidence of previous damages or repairs. The pads and material will all be replaced in our repair shop, and price includes all the work we are going to do to make it perfect.

I'm looking forward to playing this horn once our restoration is complete. This sax has all the makings of a tremendous horn. We'll set it up right with medium-open key heights and a lighter spring tension, and have it playing better than the day it left the factory in 1932. Ships in a good hard case.
