HELP, I Want One!

This is a fantastic vintage Conn “Chu Berry” series tenor sax in original matte silver plating, serial number 178130. This tenor is in tremendous shape for its age, and is a fine horn for the pro player wanting a dependable sax on a budget.

This tenor has all the great features of the Conn New Wonder II series horns. It has rolled tone holes (never filed on and in perfect condition), fingernail file G#, trill G# in the right hand, and the silver plating is in beautiful condition, with original gold wash inside the bell. There's some minor finish wear on a few touch points, but all purely cosmetic. Even better, the horn shows no signs of previous dent repair or trauma. The horn has been played, but obviously extremely well cared for. The original neck has never been pulled down or damaged.

Pads are all in excellent shape, currently fitted with flat metal resonators. The sax is starting to get that broken in feel, so it will go through our repair shop for a fresh pro set up before shipping. We'll adjust key heights and spring tensions throughout and replace any material that isn't up to our standards. It will ship in perfect regulation and ready to go for the long haul.

This tenor plays just as you want from a vintage Conn. It has a fast and lively response, very free blowing, with a warmer tone and especially lush bottom end. When you really push it, this tenor rips! Fun player.
