This is a freshly overhauled Selmer Paris Mark VII tenor sax in original lacquer, serial number 241291. The majority of Mark VII's show no engraving on the bell, but this one sports original American style engraving, only included on the first couple runs of the Mark VII (this tenor came out in 1975, near the model's introduction). This horn was just overhauled in our shop by George Bunk, and is ready to go.

Though the horn was never relacquered, there isn't a whole lot of original lacquer left, just some spots on the body tube and bell as seen in the photos. The bare brass is currently shiny, since the horn was just cleaned in our shop, but that will darken as it patinas with time and use. George did the full job on this tenor, removing any little ding or dimple and replacing all pads and material. It has a full set of premium firm leather pads and oversized, slightly domed metal seamless resonators. The horn is complete top to bottom with all original keys and original neck, all in stellar shape.

The Mark VII has become one of the most affordable options for players looking for a Selmer Paris on a budget. This tenor plays with a clean, precise sound and strong focus/core. It takes your air quickly, with a fast and lively response, and you can push it hard without feeling like you are hitting a wall. A fantastic horn for students and pros alike, it will not disappoint, and with our overhaul on it, it will be singing great for a long time to come.
