Low A – Mark VI
This is a nice Selmer Paris Mark VI baritone sax in original lacquer finish, keyed to low A, serial number 154947. If you are looking for a serious pro player perfect for use across a wide array of musical settings these low A models from the late 1960's are perfect. Although actively played on for a time, it looks like it has spent most of the time in the case. It has now been freshly overhauled in our shop by our low wind specialist, Derick Trammel, and is in perfect playing condition. The work included a complete disassemble, cleaning, key fitting and precise key regulation. It now is showing off a new set of Valentino leather pads, brown nylon resonators, new corks and felts.

The body of the sax shows off the original lacquer finish with nice original lacquer coverage and crisp American floral engraving. At some point in the past, the bell flare of this saxophone was damage and some lacquer scarring remains (See picture 19). During the overhaul in our shop we also cleaned up some previous repairs to the upper J and U tube crooks as well smoothed out some dings along the bow.

It is by no means a mint horn but the lacquer coverage on this baritone is quite nice compared to many of the baritones that come in to the shop. These Mark VI's from the late 1960's are more then worth their weight in gold to the pro player who needs a versatile horn with a free blowing core. At under $8000, this is a great option if you are looking to save some money vs getting a brand new Selmer SIII baritone. Sax ships in perfect playing condition with fresh overhaul and Mt. Vernon gig case.
