HELP, I Want One!

Nice original lacquer vintage Selmer Paris Mark VII tenor sax, serial number 268625. This tenor dates to 1977 and remains in overall excellent condition. You don't see too many VII's with full American style engraving either!

When we received this tenor, it still had most of the original pads, so we did a complete restoration. We took it apart, cleaned it inside and out, and replaced all pads and material. It has been set up ideally with a medium spring tension and medium-open key heights. During our overhaul, we took out a couple minor dings, and there was some previous dent work in the bottom bow, as seen in the photos. The original neck has a couple minor repairs, a ding removed from one side (bare lacquer now as evidence of the work) and the octave key saddle has been resoldered, as seen in the photos.

This sax is a real looker. It has about 85% original lacquer intact, mostly just surface scratching on the back side of the tube and bell. There is one resoldered joint on one foot of the low Eb keyguard. That and the prior work in the curve of the bottom bow are the only past repairs that I see.

This tenor has soul. It plays with a lively, fast response and is maybe a hair brighter than I expected. It really cuts well and projection is great. Altissimo just pops. A great lead tenor, at a price that is hard to argue with for a vintage Selmer Paris.
