HELP, I Want One!

Full Restoration!
Here's a workhorse vintage Selmer Paris bari for the player who only cares about the sound. This is a 1971 vintage Selmer Mark VI with keywork to low A, serial number 191994. This bari has been around the block, but it has just been carefully and completely restored top to bottom, and will make a great horn for a professional player wanting a low A Selmer.

The pictures tell the tale on this bari. Though the lacquer is original (it has never been relacquered), there's not a whole lot of lacquer left. It does feature American style floral engraving, extending fully down the long low A bell. The horn has seen its share of previous repair work, including dent repair and re-solders, with some parts repaired or replaced as needed to bring it back to life. Having said that, the horn is straight, and with the fresh restoration, the key-work is tight and crisp under your fingers, with no slop.

This bari was restored in another shop and meets our approval. All the work was done extremely well. Pads are a firm leather pad, with original style brown nylon resonators to match. Spring tensions and keys heights have been optimized.

This bari plays with a beefy, colorful sound, and has a huge presence down in the bell keys. It really wails down there, and stays full as you climb up above the staff. Intonation isn't always great on a vintage VI bari sax, but it is very respectable on this bari, better than you often find on the earlier vintage models. Bari saxes aren't cheap, especially Selmers, but this one is priced lower than you often find for one that has been completely re-padded and restored to perfection. Don't miss out on this one, we typically sell Mark VI bari's fast!
