Freshly Restored & Ready to Go!

This is a freshly restored, 1967 vintage Selmer Mark VI bari sax, serial number 149003. This bari was just restored in the Saxquest repair shop and is a killer player. If you've been on the hunt for an original lacquer vintage Selmer, it is hard to pass this one up.

As you can see in the photos, the lacquer shows a fair amount of finish wear, but the sax is original and has never been refinished/relacquered. When we first received the horn, it has some minor dents in the bottom bow and upper crook area, but those have been completely removed and the work looks great. You'd be hard pressed to even see evidence of the work. There is some resolders too, as to be expected on a vintage bari that has been out in the real world being played, but they too are done so well that they blend in with the horn.

This bari was repadded using premium firm leather pads, original style brown nylon resonators, and also has a full, new blue needle spring set. We were meticulous in checking tone holes, post alignment, and have really brought this sax back to factory specs. Key heights and spring tensions have each been finely set properly. It feels and plays like a new horn again. Sonically, this horn plays with a large, powerful sound, and a particularly resonant and beefy bottom end. Its tone stays fat as you climb into the middle and upper register of the instrument. A great power horn, but with color and warmth in its sound that allows for varied genres of music as well. This bari will not disappoint. Ships in a good Gard gig bag (the one with the wheels on bottom, and luggage-style handle up top).
