Nice 1923 vintage C.G. Conn New Wonder “portrait” model alto sax in original gold plate, serial number 114620. This alto is in current need of a repad, and we are offering it at a low price “as is” in hopes that the right buyer can restore it back to glory.

This alto shows typical finish wear, mostly on the usual touch points. There is no major past damage or repair, including no noticeable past dent work and no resolders. All keywork is free and moving. It does have its original neck, with microtuner mechanism. Much of the gold plating has worn from the neck. This sax features a beautiful portrait engraved on the bell, as seen in the photos, with floral elements surrounding it. A true work of art showcasing the mastery of Conn's engravers.

This sax has been cleaned and had all pads and material removed, in preparation for a fresh repad. Most of the springs are there, though a couple may need to be replaced as well (we have not examined it on the bench, but they pass the “eye test”). If you have a repair bench at home or have a preferred tech who can do the repad for you, this is a great opportunity to pick up a classic American made Conn pro alto sax on the cheap.
