This is an early vintage Meyer Bros New York “Tru-Flex” series mouthpiece for the alto sax. This piece is stamped a 4 with tip measuring .068”. It appears to be all original and never refaced. These Tru-Flex pieces were made in the late 30s and early 40s, and is the first hard rubber piece Meyer offered. Despite being an M (medium chamber), the chamber is a bit bigger than you'd find on a later vintage NY Meyer Bros piece, and thus definitely has a darker sound. This mouthpiece is in stellar shape despite its age (we're approaching 100 years at this point!) and is a wonderful mouthpiece for classic Meyer lovers and collectors alike.
