This is a unique item for you Keilwerth lovers out there: a 75th Anniversary Edition SX90R tenor in original finish, serial number 114490. A limited number of these were produced (this is # 143 as stamped on the bell), and you don't see them pop up for sale very often. It features a black nickel plated body with silver plated keywork, bell, and neck. A beautiful horn that stands out in the crowd!

This particular model was produced in a limited run in 2000, to celebrate the anniversary of the company. This example is in tremendous shape. There are 2 very tiny chair pings in the bottom bow, but no major dents and no previous repairs, including no resolders. The original neck has never been pulled down or damaged. The finish is nearly perfect; the black nickel is getting a little crinkled on the body tube up near the octave key, but is still intact as of writing and there is no other wear of note anywhere. The plating is tarnishing a bit here and there, but will be polished up in our shop before shipping.

A previous owner had some pads replaced in the upper stack, but many in the bottom of the horn are still original. As they are over 20 years old, and in order to get the sax up to our standards, we are going to replace any old pads as well as all of the material in the horn. All pads will be matching with brown nylon resonators. We'll polish the keys, optimize the action, and bring it back to factory specs.

This tenor plays with all the boldness you expect and want from an SX90R. Projection is outstanding and the edge it has cuts well. It's easy to see why these horns are loved by the rock/funk crowd, but when paired with the right piece, you can easily sit in a combo and be right at home. Very fun horn to play. Ships in its original Keilwerth hard case.
