This is an excellent condition “purple logo” Yamaha YAS-62 alto sax, serial number 005707. The first series of the YAS-62, this alto has all of the features that collectors want, including the long wrap-around keyguard on the bell/bottom bow and the purple stamping on the bell. The sax is in tremendous shape from top to bottom.

As you can see in the photos, this alto is in much better shape than most early 62's. The original lacquer is 95% intact, with mostly just mild cosmetic wear here and there. Absolutely no dents or signs of previous damage or repair, including no resolders. The original neck has never been pulled down or damaged. All in all, superb condition.

The previous owner had a couple pads replaced to get the sax in good playing shape, but the horn has never received a true pro overhaul, and still has most of its original factory pads. To make it optimal for its next owner, it will be receiving a full professional overhaul from our repair shop. We'll perform a full disassembly and cleaning, replace all pads and material (using original style brown nylon resonators), and optimize key heights and spring tensions throughout. Our work will have the sax playing like a brand new instrument; it will feel and play perfectly for its next owner.
