HELP, I Want One!

This is a very nice vintage SML Rev. D tenor sax in original lacquer, serial #12328. The lacquer condition and general look of this tenor is about as clean as it gets. The tenor showcases rolled tone hole construction and original gold plated springs. The pearls are all original and in great shape, some of them even have some original lacquer overspray on them. These old SML models also have adjustable G# lever that allow you to use it with or with out an articulated G#.

These SML's play with an impressive free blowing sonic character and have an ample amount of power when desired. Regarding their sonic character they are most akin to the vintage Selmer core sound of the mid 1950's. This particular tenor came into our shop on a recent overhaul with brown plastic resonators. It could use some minor adjustments and key fitting, but it is sealing up well, and is available here for a great price in as-is condition.

Physically the tenor is in beautiful condition and does not have any history of major repair and has received no re-solders. The original lacquer is 98%+ intact with minimal wear on the usual touch points. Its body tube, bow, bow cap and original neck are all in outstanding condition. There is evidence of a couple minor pings removed from the bottom bow, but no other previous repairs that I can see. The neck has never been pulled down or repaired; it has just a small amount of lacquer wear from cork replacement. The bell flare is also in pristine physical condition.

If you are looking for a super clean SML you will not want to miss out on this Rev D. They don't come any nicer!
