This is a gorgeous late 70s vintage Selmer Paris Mark VII tenor sax, serial number 276782. This horn has not seen a lot of playing in its life, and remains in spectacular original condition. To sweeten the pie, it is a great player to go along with its beautiful looks. A fantastic option for Selmer lovers who can't spring for a Mark VI.

This tenor looks great, with 98% original lacquer intact. There is only minor cosmetic wear here and there from honest use, but the sax has obviously never been played hard (or much!). The only prior repair is a single resolder, on one foot of the low C keyguard. No signs of past dent work anywhere, and the original neck has never been pulled down. This tenor was repadded by the previous owner 6 years ago, using original style pads and brown resonators, but has sat ever since. Pads are still in new condition, and the horn is sealing well. Because it is playing great, we are selling it on the current pad job, rather than do any work and inflate the price.

This tenor is a player, no doubt. It plays with a good amount of spread in its voice without losing its strong core and foundational warmth. It takes all of the air you can push through it, and I never felt like I was hitting a wall. Strong projection that cuts well. This is a dynamic horn, with looks to kill. If you want a true Selmer Paris without breaking the bank, and one that hasn't been beat around, you can't go wrong with this gem. Ships in its original Selmer Vanguard wood case.
