This is an early 90s era Keilwerth SX90R tenor sax in original gold lacquer, serial number 98187. This tenor is in tremendous shape for its age, with greater than 95% original lacquer intact. It has recently been repadded and is ready to go for its new owner.

The lacquer on this horn looks great, with only nominal wear from regular use. There's the typical wear on the touch points, and some scratching on the back side of the body tube as seen in the photos. Remarkably, no major dents and only a couple tiny pings, and no resolders; no signs of past repair at all. The original neck has never been pulled down.

This tenor was repadded in another shop, using firm leather pads and seamless metal resonators. The work is good, leaving a positive “pop” under your fingers and the keywork is tight and responsive. The sax is playing fantastic on its current set up. It has a big sound but definitely on the warmer side, so while projection isn't a problem, you can dial it back when you need and still play soft and sultry. Great all-around player for the pro saxophonist on a budget. Ships in a sturdy hard case.
