HELP, I Want One!

Here's a great price on a 1967 American engraved Selmer Mark VI tenor sax, serial number 143731. This tenor is priced to move, and is a fantastic player for the pro wanting a 60s vintage Mark VI without breaking the bank.

This Mark VI is in very good physical condition, and has been professionally played and maintained. It was last fully repadded about 10 years ago with premium firm leather pads and machined, oversized flat brass metal resonators. We're going to do a fresh cleaning and adjustment on this horn before shipping it out, where we'll clean it up inside and out, replace all key adjustment material, and any pads that are starting to age, or which aren't up to our standards. Once complete, the horn will be in perfect regulation and ready to go for a long time to come.

This tenor was relacquered long ago, and later re-engraved in the original American style. The “newer” engraving is perfect, with a clean original-like look to it. The sax does show some history of previous repair, some resolders here and there, and the bottom bow cap is non-original, but all of the work appears clean. Both thumbrests have been swapped to metal ones, including an ergonomic right hand thumbrest as seen in the photos. The original neck doesn't appear to have ever been pulled down and is in solid shape.

This tenor plays with a slightly brighter sound, with outstanding projection and power. It takes all of the air you can push through it, and you never feel like you are hitting a wall. This horn just doesn't have any giveup in it! A great power horn with a lot of edge, perfect for jazz, rock, and funk. Ships in a Hiscox Pro II series case in excellent shape.
