Excellent Condition Yamaha YAS-23 Alto Sax - New Pads! - Serial # 111171A

This is an early series Yamaha YAS-23 alto saxophone, serial number 111171A (for the American market). This alto was just restored in the Saxquest repair shop and is ready to go. It is a great option for beginning players or even as a solid backup for more advanced players.
This alto shows a fair amount of cosmetic lacquer wear, mostly scratching and whatnot from honest use, but it is all just cosmetic wear and doesn't affect play. The horn was just rebuilt in our shop by Aaron Standing, and is in perfect working order. It has all new pads, corks, and felts, and all of the action has been adjusted properly for feel and response.
Sonically, this alto plays with a quick and easy response, which translates to being very forgiving for younger players. Having said that, it also has a strong depth of tone and overall warmer sound, so even advancing players can stick with it for a long time, and the YAS-23 remains a popular horn for marching band or outside gigs. Ships in a sturdy plastic case.
