Beautiful condition Yanagisawa A-901 professional alto saxophone, serial number 00223854. This alto looks fantastic, and will ship with a fresh pro set up from our repair shop. This is a great horn for advancing students looking for pro level sax on a budget.

This alto looks tremendous, with 95%+ original lacquer intact; only minor wear on the usual touch points and whatnot. There's one previous repair of note, where the bell flare was bent on one side. This has been repaired, but there is some lacquer loss from the work, as seen in the photos. Otherwise, just a handful of extremely shallow, cosmetic chair dings in the bottom of the sax, and no resolders or other previous repairs. The original neck has never been pulled down or damaged.

Most of the pads are still in great shape, but a few are starting to show wear, so this alto is currently in our repair shop in line for a fresh cleaning and adjustment. We'll take it apart, clean it, and replace necessary pads and all of the key corks and felts. We'll also optimize spring tensions and key heights, putting the sax in perfect regulation. All work is included in the price.

This Yani plays with a clear, focused sound, with superb intonation and a very easy-blowing quality. These make for great classical or concert band horns, because they blend very well, but with the right mouthpiece, it really rips too! In particular, altissimo pops effortlessly as a natural extension of the horn. Ships in its original case with normal wear and tear.
