HELP, I Want One!

A Real Players Horn
This is an exceptionally superb playing Selmer Paris Super Balanced Action alto saxophone, serial number 35845. The alto show cases an ultra resonant playing character with a round focused quality at its core. The sound color on this alto leans on the brighter side in comparison to many of the ultra dark altos very common of the earlier vintage Selmer altos. The beautiful sonic color and clarity of this horn allow it to be played with exceptional projection and versatility. The early SBA’s are known to have very light and fast key action, this alto is no exception.
While it is not the prettiest horn in the shop it is one of the best players and is physically in very solid condition.  The bell, bell flare and lower bow area are all in excellent physical condition. Its bow cap is also in nice shape, it does have a small pushed in area on one side. There is history of some body work and a few re-solders to the lower key guard feet. The solder work is very clean looking and was done professionally in our shop. At some point in the past the sax was re-lacquered and much of its current finish has also come down to the raw brass. The original neck is with the saxophone and is in very good condition with matching serial number stamp.
This alto was meticulously overhauled in 2013 in the Saxquest shop. It was set-up on Valentino pads and seamless metal resonators. As the previous owner only played it sparingly the horn is still playing superbly. In order to keep the price of this saxophone at a premium we are selling this saxophone playing in as is condition on its overhaul from 2013.
If you are looking for a no joke serious player you will quickly fall in love with this alto. It plays great, feels great and all ready has the look of a well seasoned pro player. Ships with contoured case.
