HELP, I Want One!

Freshly Overhauled in the Saxquest Repair Shop

1955 vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor sax, serial number 59257. The tenor just came out of the Saxquest shop and has a fresh re-pad. It is in top notch playing condition and is ready for a new home. The Saxquest professional overhaul included all new Valentino pads, seamless metal resonators, new corks, felts as well as precise key fitting and regulation. It is a sweet playing tenor with a lot of punch!

The body of this sax is in excellent condition. At some point in the past it was re-lacquered. Who ever did the work did an extremely good job. The saxophone does not show any signs it was ever over buffed or abused during or after the process. Its body tube, bow and bell are all in nice condition. The bow cap is in very good shape and shows evidence of only minor past dent work. This saxophone also is sporting the original Mark VI neck with matching serial number stamp. The neck was previously pulled down but has been brought back to proper position.

This sax has a rich and deep resonating core sound. While it is very dark in color its amount of projection and power it can be played with is quite impressive. These early Mark VI tenors are very special in how you can really feel them vibrate in your hands. If you are love a sax with a big robust core and lots of sonic flexibility this tenor is going to be hard to put down.
