Excellent condition 1937 vintage C.G. Conn 6M “Naked Lady” engraving alto sax, serial number 279124. This is one of the fabled “VIII” stamped 6M's, which are supposedly the best of the best as far as this model goes. It is currently in our repair shop in line for a fresh repad, and will ship in perfect playing shape.

This 6M is nickel plated, and as far as I can tell, the plating is original. I've been over it with a fine tooth comb and it certainly looks original to me. You don't see many original nickel Conn horns, but every one I've ever played has been a good sax, and this one meets those standards. Even on the current older pads, this alto plays up a storm with a big, bold sound, a ton of projection, and a lively, fast response. It is going to get even better when our repad is done!

The horn has obviously never been abused. There are are a couple tiny cosmetic pings here and there (we'll take those out during the repad), but no serious past trauma or repairs. Rolled tone holes has never been filed on, and the original microtuner neck (with underslung octave key and double socket receiver) has never been pulled down or damage. The neck has the matching “VIII” stamping. This alto will receive our full, top shelf overhaul, with all new pads (metal resonators), corks, and felts, and a thorough regulation, and ships with our full year mechanical warranty. Does come in a hard case.
