This is a “new old stock” Selmer Paris metal mouthpiece for the tenor sax in its original box. Featuring Selmer iconic scroll pattern on the shank, the piece is stamped with the traditional C* facing and measures .071”. Spending all of its life in the box, the original silver plating remains perfect with no wear and, surprisingly, no tarnish, and there is no playing wear on the black bite plate. Some of the red felt from the original box has worn off onto the mouthpiece, so it could use a good scrubbing, but no finish wear of note. It also has its original 404 ligature and cap, also silver plated. Unfortunately the cap has bumped against the tip and there are 2 tiny dings on either side of the tip near the rails, but they are very superficial and do not seem to affect play. A cool piece for players and collectors alike.
