HELP, I Want One!

Freshly Repadded

This is a beautiful original lacquer Martin Committee series “The Martin Tenor” tenor sax, serial number 195037. This tenor is in outstanding original lacquer, much nicer than you typically see, and it has been well cared for over its life. Recently repadded, this tenor is ready to serve its new owner well.

As you can see in the photos, this Martin tenor looks incredible. Its original lacquer is a solid 95% intact, with only light wear on the usual touch spots. The sax has had a couple minor dings removed over the years from honest playing, but the only real repair is found at the top of the body tube, where the neck receiver came loose at some point and was resoldered back on. This work was done very well. The original neck has the matching serial number, and it has never been pulled down. It too shows only light lacquer wear.

This sax came to us in newer pads, fitted with brown plastic resonators. We will go through and give it our pro set up, reseating the pads as needed, and regulating the instrument for optimum key heights and spring tensions. We'll replace any subpar material to make the sax perfect.

The vintage Martin saxes are really for your everyday gigging musician. This is a no-nonsense kind of horn. It plays with a fast response, with a tight core and strong presence, even in a loud environment. I found this one to be particularly powerful and commanding. It does ship in its original case.
