Store Information
This is a beautiful condition Selmer Paris Reference 36 tenor sax, serial number 625408. This tenor has been extremely well cared for and is close to immaculate, with just one small previous repair. It will get a fresh cleaning and adjustment from our shop before shipping, and come to you in perfect playing shape.
As you can see in the photos, there's nothing not to like about this tenor. The original lacquer is 99% intact with no major wear of note. There's some cosmetic scratching here or there if you look closely, but no major wear, even on the usual touch points. The only previous repair is on the bell flare, which was bent down in one spot. It has been repaired and brought back to proper position, but there is light lacquer loss from that work. There are no dents or dings, no other previous repairs, and no resolders. The neck has never been pulled down or damaged and is in pristine shape as well.
Pads are all still in superb shape, and honestly the sax doesn't look to have been played very much or very hard. During our adjustment/set up, we will replace all key adjustment corks and felts, as well as any pads that are starting to show wear. We'll regulate the action and it will feel like a new horn when we are finished.
This tenor has a warm sound, but not super dark, and was a lot more open and resonant feeling than I was expecting. Really takes your air well and responds quickly, with just a hint of positive resistance to give you something to push against. I feel this tenor can be good at everything from jazz to rock, and even classical with the right mouthpiece. Ships in its original Selmer Light series case.
