This is a super sweet playing vintage Berg Larsen mouthpiece for tenor saxophone. The mouthpiece is first and foremost an extremely nice player. Its outer body, beak and shank are all in good condition, especially for its vintage. There had initially been a notable amount of work performed on this piece. A previous owner removed the “bullet” and opened piece up. It was most recently worked on by James Bunte and it is now playing great with a traditional 7* opening.
As it is now this is a fantastic, free blowing Berg and can be played with a lot of power and brilliance. I see a piece like this being ideal for a fairly straight player who wants the feel of a hard rubber piece but enough flexibility to cut above a loud band. In this same manner it would also be great in many funk and R&B settings.
