Gorgeous 1957 vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI alto saxophone, serial number 69242. This beauty features 95%+ original lacquer and would be a fine addition to any player's or collector's retinue. It obviously has never been played hard, and is ready for a new owner to enjoy.

This is an early 5 digit “short bow” Mark VI, featuring European style engraving and keywork to high F#. It shows no signs of prior dents or dent repair. There is just one resoldered joint, on one foot of the low Eb keyguard. No other previous repairs that I can spot. The original neck shows mild lacquer wear but has never been damaged or pulled down. It even has all of the factory blue paint around the “S” of the octave key! Pads were replaced a few years ago and are still in fantastic shape with years of life ahead of them. As a tremendous bonus, the sax still has all of its original Selmer screwback metal resonators.

This Mark VI plays great, with a definitive warmer tone and just a bit of spread on its sound. While not overly focused, it retains the strong core that sets these Mark VI's apart from all the rest. When you hear it, you know immediately that it's a vintage Selmer! This sax will get a fresh pro set up from our repair shop before shipping, where we'll replace all key adjustment material and optimize the action throughout. It'll arrive to you in perfect regulation.

Ships in its original Selmer Paris Euro style case.
