HELP, I Want One!

Recently Restored in our Repair Shop

This is a wonderful vintage professional Selmer Paris Series 9 Bb clarinet, serial number U6269. The serial number dates this clarinet to 1966, the golden age of Selmer's professional clarinet, and ones known for being outstanding jazz models. This instrument was recently restored in our repair shop by Audrey Denny and is ready for its new lease on life.

This clarinet features a grenadilla wood body, with wood barrel and bell. All are in fantastic shape. There was previously 1 crack in the upper joint, which has been professionally repaired with 2 pins, but no other previous repairs. The body shows mild surface scratching and light finish wear on the keys, as to be expected on a vintage clarinet, but all is still in tremendous shape.

Audrey repadded this instrument with the best materials around. It features Valentino Master pads in the bottom joint, cork pads in the top, and synthetic material for all of the key adjustment pieces. All key heights and spring tensions have been expertly set. The horn does come with a Selmer Paris 66.5 barrel as well as a replacement Buffet ICON 65mm one, with rose gold rings.

This is the quintessential doubler's clarinet. It is very easy blowing and forgiving for saxophonists sitting in the pit or on bandstand. While it is overall a free blowing clarinet, it still plays with a nice focus, and projection is great. A fun clarinet to play, and priced to move quickly.
