Solid vintage American made Selmer Bundy tenor saxophone, serial number 30222. This horn dates to the late 1960s, after Selmer acquired the Buescher company, and is essential a late vintage Buescher tenor. It has new pads and is a great option for players looking for their first tenor on a budget, or any pro player wanting an inexpensive tenor for a backup.

This horn was relacquered long ago, and even the “newer” lacquer has a sweet aged patina to it. The work was done well; all of the engraving remains crisp with no signs of major buffing. There is evidence of some resolder work on a couple of the lower body keyguards, but the work was done before the relacquered and appears clean. No signs of major past dent work or dent repair on the body tube, bell, or bottom bow, and the original neck is straight as well. This tenor arrived to us on a recent pad job. Pads are in like-new condition with brown plastic resonators, and the sax will get checked over in our repair shop before shipping, where we'll make sure it is sealing properly.

This tenor plays just as you'd expect from a vintage Buescher Aristocrat. Very open feeling, with a warm tone and good response. It takes your air quickly and responds fast. The action is a bit antiquated compared to modern horns, especially in the table keys, but it's nothing that you can't get used to. Solid horn for the price, it won't disappoint!
