HELP, I Want One!

Late vintage (50s) Conn 6M alto sax with “naked lady” engraving, serial number 681446. This alto is in exquisite condition, with newer pads and a professional relacquer job. It looks like a new instrument, and is ready to go for its next owner.

As you can see in the photos, this alto shows very little wear. I would guess that it has been factory relacquered, as the “newer” gold lacquer is 99.9% perfect and shows minimal wear. The engraving is perfect with no signs of buffing. There is one very tiny ding on the body tube near the thumb hook; no other signs of past dent work or repair. The original neck, with double socket receiver and underslung octave key, is flawless.

This is a post-WWII 6M, so it doesn't have rolled tone holes, but it is still a professional model and features 6M style keywork throughout, including the improved table key layout with ergonomic action. Pads are in excellent, pristine condition, fitted with pro brown plastic resonators. The sax is sealing well, and will get a final check-up from our repair shop before shipping, where we'll insure pad seats and proper alignment.

This alto plays with a crisp, clean voice. It offers excellent control and plays with a full, slightly spread sound. Takes your air quickly and responds fast. If you are seeking the classic Conn sound without spending $2k+ on a pre-war model, this is a great option. Ships in a good hard shell vintage case.
