HELP, I Want One!

This is a very straight Selmer Paris Mark VI alto sax, serial number 147635. This is a true '67 vintage Mark VI, in one of the most desirable serial number ranges of the model. It is an original lacquer American engraved example. While it shows a fair amount of lacquer wear, it is original and is in solid physical condition.

This horn has been out in the real world getting played, but hasn't been abused. The original lacquer shows moderate wear, as seen in the photos. The sax has a couple tiny pings in the bottom bow area, but no signs of any major past dents, and the only previous repair is a correction of a minor bend on one side of the bell flare. The original neck has never been pulled down or damaged.

This sax features good pads, fitted with original style brown nylon resonators. It came to us playing through some leaks, and as such is currently in our repair shop in line for a fresh cleaning and adjustment. We'll reseat pads as needed, replace all key adjustment corks and felts, and optimize key heights and spring tensions throughout. Once complete, it will feel like a new horn and be ready to go for the long haul.

This alto plays just as you'd expect and desire from a '67 vintage VI. Very easy blowing and offering the player superb control of dynamics and tonal color. It has a faster response and generates a ton of power when pushed, without ever feeling like you are hitting a wall. Great lead alto kind of sound. Ships in its original gray Selmer zipper case.
