HELP, I Want One!

Shipping with Full Saxquest Overhaul

This is a 1965 vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor sax, serial number 127494. This tenor is a fantastic horn and is due to be completely overhauled in the Saxquest repair shop before it ships out. If you are looking for a tremendous Mark VI but can't swing “5 digit” money, this horn will not disappoint.

The photos make this tenor look a bit grungy, but it will be completely disassembled and cleaned during our overhaul. We'll check all tone holes for level, realign posts as needed, and replace all of the pads (using original style brown plastic resonators) and key adjustment corks and felts. We'll have it back in perfect playing shape and ready to last you a long time to come.

This tenor shows honest playing wear, but shows no signs of any previous abuse. It shows some minor past dents in the bottom bow, but no serious past trauma. The original neck has been pulled down, but professionally corrected. It has the matching serial number stamped in it. The sax is either original lacquer, or it is the best factory relacquer I've ever seen. The color is right for this vintage, and it is the right type of air-bake lacquer, but there are two small spots where the stamping looks a little faint. The hand engraving on the bell is pristine, so I lean towards original lacquer, but I mention all this for pure transparency.

Once restored, I expect nothing less than a monster player. This tenor plays with a free, open sound and very quick, lively response. A proper adjustment will make it that much better. We'll get some new photos of it once it has been cleaned and repadded, if it doesn't sell before.
