Vintage Evette Schaeffer Low Bb Baritone Sax Paris France, Serial #9862 W/ Case

This is a vintage Evette Schaeffer Low Bb baritone saxophone, serial number 9862. The auction includes the original neck as well as the original wood hard case. 

 

The pictures of the sax tell its story quite well. At this point it is not the prettiest and is in need of repair. At this time all of the pads are well past their prime and the sax shows a number of dings around the body. That being said it does not look like it has ever received extensive solder work in the past. At this time the horn is not currently playing and will need to be overhauled and seriously serviced before it is ready for any playing. Looking over the saxophone. All of the original nickel plated key work is intact and in good shape. Everything is moving free, nothing is frozen in place. All of the key guards are also intact with the sax. The bottom bow is in decent condition as is the upper J and U tube area. 

 

Overhauling a bari is no small feat but on the positive side this one will not require any major re-building. If you know a good tech and are looking to get into a bari at a lower price point you can pick this one up for a good price. Ships in as is condition with original neck and wood hard case.
